What a heartbreaking story. And what an extraordinary artist. Not only is she remarkably talented, her art poignantly captures the times that the lived in. It's both artistically and historically important. Edith Lake Wilkinson deserves national recognition.

Just finished watching the documentary and would like to thank all involved for bringing such a remarkable artist to our attention and sadly so long overdue. How different things would be if society were more tolerant in those days and men didn't rule.

I just watched the documentary on HBO... A beautiful
And heart breaking story... A talented artist whose works
Were found and brought to the art world... Locked up
Because she was different ? Bravo to the family for bringing it back and
Letting Edith breathe again!

I am watching the movie and really enjoying it but I'm wondering if the children of Edith's nephew were okay with their mother giving away their great aunts paintings to cousins unrelated to Edith. Great story.
